Ladies 3rd XI Match Report
Tring 4th XI v Potters Bar Ladies 3rd XI

Potters Bar Ladies third team travelled the 45mins up to Tring for their first league game of the season. With a last minute effort to get 11 players together we took to the pitch on a very very hot day with a new goalie and the current goalie occupying left mid.
It wasnt long before the team of old showed their flare and attacked straight from the off. Katy Francis and Jenni Harrington making good use of through balls from Ruth Hall to cause the Tring defence lots of problems, resulting in a short corner for the PB team. Up steped Kelly Hutcherson and calmly fired PB into the lead with a bottom left hand corner strike. 1-0 to Bar after 7 minutes.
Tring, not used to being behind, then attacked and passed well but the solid defence of Ruth Hall,Gronia Morley and Creys Coker-Ciswell and the amazing keeping of newbie Samm Lewis, kept Bar in the lead until half time. Lots of fluid on board during half time obviously did the trick for PB as straight from the whistle Anita Klendjian attacked through the middle taking Tring's defence of guard and superb pass through to Jenni Harrington allowed Pb to go 2 up.
Tring then piled on the pressure again and scored about 5 minutes into the second half with a soft goal trickling through the goalies legs. A loud rally round from the whole Bar team and 2 supports and we were off and running again with Clare Pollitt (O'Sullivan) combining well with Chris Field on the left to allow Vicky Watts to put PB 3-1 up with 15 minutes to play.
A bad injury to Jenni Harringnton stopped play for 5 minutes when opponents stick found ankle and Tring took this break to have a little chat and from the bully off (old style) Tring pressed and gained 3 short corners in a row unfortunatly scoring on the 3rd attempt. 3-2 to PB.
This second Tring goal spurred PB into a final push not wanting to undo all of the positive play so far and we attacked with gusto putting more pressure on the weary Tring defence. Anita Klendjian seeming the only one left with any puff made her way up the middle, combining nicey with Clare Pollitt on the left and pushing into the D and a nice controlled effort finding the back board. 4-2 PB.
The final whistle went and a very deserved win 4-2 to Potters Bar to start their league campain off.
