Once upon a time...
On a cold and rainy potters bar home ground, the potters bar 2's were up beat and revelling in their undefeated title. Wondering what the yellow and black leighton buzzard side were going to bring to the table. Faces were focused and expectations were high for a good game of hockey.
The game started with leighton buzzard quick to the attack. From the keen defending of Potters Bar and the expertise of Potters Bar Goalie Glenys Chiswell, the balls were quickly deflected and passed up to Potters Bar midfield to begin the attacks. However despite attempts made from potters bar attack, the Leighton Buzzard side were quick on the ball and potters bar usual shine seemed to be fading under the pressure. When Leighton Buzzard attempted an attack, the situation in the D was scrappy, potters bar defence were continuously dominating the attacking leighton player, who kept coming back for more.
Half time score 1-0 to Leighton Buzzard.
After half time refreshments, Potters Bar were raring to get back into the game.
Potters Bar Midfield worked well with the attacking forwards and gave leighton buzzard a force to be reckoned with. Potters Bar Centre Midfield Emily Sherlock holding the middle creating chances for the wings to open up. However, Leighton Buzzard still remained on the attack, skillfull players that managed to find their way through and put pressure on Bar. Early on into the second half, Leighton Buzzard got the upper hand and scored from a short corner.
With encouraging shouting from Potters Bar Louise Allmark and Shelley Farmer, Potters Bar kept their heads up and a drive from Bar saw a spectacular equalising flick into the goal from Shelley Farmer. However, despite more attacks from both sides, it was Leighton Buzzard that managed to take the lead and scored two more goals to claim the match.
Final Score: Potters Bar 3 -1 Leighton Buzzard
