Ladies 3rd XI Match Report

Potters Bar 3rd XI v Bedford 5th XI

25 September 2010 | by Kelly Hutcherson

Potters bar ladies third team got off to a winning start in their first ever league game against Bedford 5 in division 7. After a delayed start due to directional problems from Bedford the game got under way with Bedford only fielding 7 players and minus a goalkeeper. From the start Potters Bar pushed forward and within 5minutes Neusha Pirouzi had a great run and shot into the empty goal to give Potters Bar a 1-0 lead. Soon after the remaining Bedford players made it on the pitch and they started to push forward but the strong defence of Charlotte Sayers and Kelly Hutcherson kept them at bay and Potters Bar finished the first half with their 1-0 lead intact.

The second half followed a simular pattern and it wasnt long before Neusha Pirouzi scored her second goal to put Potters Bar 2-0 up. Again Potters Bar pushed forward from the restart but got caught on the attack and Bedford managed to squeeze a shot past goalkeeper Jenni Harrington, but to the relief of Potters Bar their goal came less than a minute from the end and Potters Bar held on to record their first win of the season 2-1.

Final Score: Potters Bar 2 -1 Bedford

Goal Scorers: Neusha Pirouzi (2)
