Under 14 Girls perform well against tough opposition
By Peter Simmons on 28 November 2011
With some players not available the Under 14 Girls team did well to win one, loose one and draw one in their second round of matches in the Herts Junior League. In their first game they came up against a well drilled Harpenden side that was soon three goals ahead. In the second the half Potters Bar fought back with a good strike from Caitlin Creeley while several superb saves from Olivia Robinson limited the opposition to just one goal.
Against West Herts Caitlin Creeley, Daisey Rabbit and Rebecca Yates combined well to create several chances before the opposition took the lead before half time. In the second half good defensive play from Charlotte Andiyapan and more saves from Olivia Robinson kept West Herts out while Daisey Rabbit deflected in a Caitlin Creeley short corner strike to claim the draw.
The team saved their best play until the last game with good defensive play from Charlotte Andiyapan and good linking play by Rebecca Yates provided the foundation for a 2-0 win over St Albans. Daisey Rabbit and Caitlin Creeley scored a goal each and Olivia Robinson made a couple of crucial saves.
