Final Scores - Saturday November 20

By Anthony Levy on 20 November 2010

100% record for the men this week, but sadly reversals for the ladies, although good performances against high flying opposition.

The Ladies 1s lost 7-1 at home to top of the table Havering. Despite the score line this was an excellent performance (complemented by the opposition afterwards) with many shots stopped by their excellent goalkeeper. Lucy Edwards got the goal in what was a much better team performance.

The Ladies 2s faced a tough challenge against 2nd placed St Albans 3 and were unlucky to come away at the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat, with Bar nearly snatching a draw with a short corner awarded on the final whistle which Clare Rose hit just wide. Louise Allmark scored the Bar goal.

The Ladies 3rd made the long trip to Saffron Walden knowing it was going to be a tough game as they started the day only one point behind Bar in 2nd.
A very young, very skilled and very well organised team were unfortunately superior to our new team and beat us 6-1 with Chris Field getting our only goal.

The Mens 1s had another superb day, defeating 2nd in the table Letchworth 2s 4-1 to move 4 points clear at the top of the Div 3 table. A hat trick from Mark Turpin and one from Ed Whybrow capped a splendid second half performance against the best side Bar have encountered this season.

The Mens 2s got back to winning ways securing a comfortable 6-0 victory over an inexperienced Royston 4s team that had to go out and acquire some white tops before the game started! Goals were shared out between Jon Yates, Danny Becker, Miles Edson, Freddie Waite, George Nye and Dan Sones.

The Mens 3s had a late start at home to Luton Town 4s and came through with another victory, this time by 4-1. Andrew Jones scored a hat trick and Drew Goodhead scored on his senior debut. Drew and George McCormick were men of the match in a game that could easily have been won by many more goals. Best wishes to Oliver Pace who fractured his right thumb following a brave tackle.

Cheers
