WANT TO PLAY?

Potters Bar Hockey Club was re-formed in 2001 by a handful of ex-Potters Bar players. Over the last 6 years the club has grown in strength and re-entered the East Hockey South West league. In the 2003-04 season the club won the South West Division 8 title by a margin of 15 points (losing just 2 games all season). The following season the club came second in South West Division 7 and were promoted to South West Division 6 for the 2005-06 season. Potters Bar narrowly avoided relegation in that season, largely due to a number of their players having babies or injuries.

The 2006-07 promised much more as some new players have joined the club. After a strong second half of the season, Potters Bar finished in 4th place, narrowly missing promotion. In ensuing summer of 2007, an influx of players meant the club could put out two teams for the 2007-08 season, with both teams looking for promotion from their respective divisions.

The club has a mix of players from the old Potters Bar / South Herts hockey club, new members, colts and some occasional players who play when they can. We currently have around 25 regular players with another 7-8 who play occasional games. The club invites anyone to join (with or without experience).

New members should contact Paul Brady by e-mail at mail@pauljobrady.plus.com or call on 07966 135360. We are particularly interested in building on the youthful element of the sides but of course more experienced veterans are always welcome!

Potters Bar hockey club match reports normally appear in the local paper (the Potters Bar Times), so if you want to become famous, or if you just like hockey, this could be your starting point!
