An excellent performance from a re-arranged Potters Bar side.

A tighter contest than the scoreline suggests, Bar nevertheless used their pace on the wings to create numerous chances against a well organised and experienced Letchworh side.

Excellent performances all around the park, in particular by Adam Frame in his first experience in goal, looked solid and made one or two notable interceptions when Letchworth threatened the D.

Bar went into half time 3-0 up, and fairly comfortable, but were vulnerable on the break. The forth and fifth goals in the second half were not until late in the piece.

This was an effective and well organised display, Bar do need to be careful about becoming overcommitted in midfield and certainly held a high defensive line in the last 20 minutes. A more pacy opposition would have almost certainly punished us. Three performances worth of note: Peter Simmons, David Brandon and Steve Walters played as a very effective and organised back 3 and in the attacking half there was some attractive fluid hockey.
