Summer Notice

Just a reminder that there is no Junior Hockey training during the school holidays.

As the main season has finished we would normally not start again until September.

However we have decided to continue the Junior Hockey sessions during the Summer Term, although they will only take place every other week.

The Thursday 7-8.00pm sessions will take place on the following dates:

- 7th May

- 21st May

- 4th June

- 18th June

- 2nd July

- 16th July

We hope the youngsters will enjoy training in warmer temperatures and daylight!

Potters Bar Hockey Club (men and ladies) are starting a Junior Hockey section for the first time this season. With the men now running three teams and the Ladies promoted to the East League it is time for the club to start developing its own talent to build on the success of last season.

Junior Training: Restarts Thursday 8th Jan 2009
Junior training for 7 to 14 year olds will take place on Thursdays between 7.00 and 8.00pm at the Dame Alice Owens School astro. Two qualified coaches with full CRB clearance will be running coaching suitable for youngsters with both experience of playing hockey and no experience at all. Sticks will be available but youngsters should bring shin pads. Mouth guards are recommended but are not compulsory. Footwear should not have football type studs. Bring plenty of drinks to stay hydrated.

Older juniors with some experience of hockey may prefer to come to Senior Training that also takes place at Dame Alice Owens between 8.00 and 9.00pm on Mondays.

Junior Matches:
Depending on the level of response we will provide opportunities for both girls and boys to play matches in the Herts Junior Leagues. These matches take place on Sundays.

Adult League Matches:
Juniors over the age of 13 are entitled to play in adult league matches and those with sufficient experience and confidence will be considered for the adult teams.

Training Fee:
A training fee of £2 per session will be charged to cover the cost of pitch hire.

Junior Registration:
A Junior Registration form will need to be completed for all juniors so that the coaches have information on any medical conditions as well as emergency contact details.
